Sundry updates on life

huloo everyone....placements r on currently...and the tension is getting to everyone...the first slot just got over today.....well these r my thots on the whole process...(of day zero only...day one hasnt even begun... :)
the madness: it is unbelievable how a whole mass of humanity suddenly descends on to the MDC..thats the management development center for the uninitiated...the effort that goesi nto the whole show is enormous and eye opening...but also is the irritability of some of the volunteers who think they are doing more work than the rest of us and hence deserve greater respect!!!
but the all pervasive factor ofocurse is the seniors' anxiety on being able to crack the interviews...it was there for us also during our summers process but this time the magnitude is some 50 times more..
me was a company volunteer...the work wasnt too intensive but it did get damn exhausting nevertheless...and my company didnt care to even say bye before going!...pathetic!
almost the entire class of mine is involved in the process in various capacities apart from company vols...there r the trackers, the infra guys, those in hospi--taking care of food and refreshments for the candidates and the volunteers alike and finally there are the placement representatives....everyone working with a single minded commitment towards seeing how they can make the process less complicated for the stressed out PGP2s...(thats what we call our seniors)
its my birthday tomoro...and me am damn happy...i got all my bday gifts from home yesterday....and that made me even more happy!!.....me got all sorts of gifts and they were all so thoughfully chosen that i got all senti....cool naa?
more on life after bday and placements...
(btw r section website is coming up soon and will post the link up here soon...)

Of college and the days that were....*sigh*...

Ok..so this is the first time i am going to put someone else's writing on my blog....wen i started out to blog..i had solemnly sworn to myself that i wont put up anything unoriginal on my space...it was purely for my thoughts, my ideas, my creation....
but sometimes u come across some stuff which so poignantly converys what u urself want to say that it is impossible to plagiarise :)
so here's an article from my college website...me was feeling nostalgic abt st.stephens and wanted to write abt it and bingo i find this awesome article by god knows who which fits like a neat piece in a jigsaw.....cool...!
so read and enjoy...its all abt my college and echoes my sentiments to a T...

Snap-shots, pot shots and other shots on and off the rocks---History of the World in Three years:
From the Cat's cradle to Grave's end.

Conception: 12+19 - (these are the long and short of it, the crosswires under which the new entrant stands waiting to be born: invisible strings that have really lowered the incumbent upon the stage, are removed unseen and soon forgotten)

Labour : The hardest part is always the first. The interview has nothing inter-about it, more like a three on one pile up.

Delivery : Pushed through the front gates, themselves modestly ajar, or celibately chained, depending upon your perspective, you entered Andrew's Court (notice the past tense).

The World : is a curious place in which everything and nothing happens. There are temptations, vices, samosas, chang, Allnutt South (for the boys), walks in the rain, nights out and days in; ranged against them, classes, tutorials, assembly attendance, attendance, assembly, the mess, the girl's hostel (for the girls), long hauls on DTC, the rain with no one to walk with, samosas, Jan tests, Cat scans, Shakesoc plays and sundry dirty laundry that washes over you (notice no mention of classes, drat).

You Learn : Hell is other people; heaven is also other people; Love is all you need, experience all you get; A rolling stone keeps rolling until stopped by Newton; 2+2 always means trouble; playing hard is harder than studying hard; the face in the mirror never looks quite like you.Like a report from a gun and the time the bullet takes to land, the seemingly interminable gap between anda-tamatar and grad-dinner (same fare, different dress codes) vanishes.

The exams, last and certainly the least, arrive like judgement day with a whimper. Trains, planes and automobiles are the biers that carry the newly anointed body off. You leave, you wake up, the real world grabs you by the throat, the arm, or whatever part it can get its hands on. You look back. Where was I? Did I suffer? Was it hell? Too late. As the raw taste of egg scrambled with semi-cooked onion still lingers somewhere in the synapses of your nervous system, and will fire you up periodically to return for more, you realise, having got your little bite off the apple of knowledge, you've been kicked out of paradise.

My take on the Oscars...and of swatch, nestle and martina hingis...

hullo ppl...i am bak...after a bit of a hiatus...
so the 77th annual academy awards has passed us by and heres wat i think of the same...
it was surely a less monotonous awards show than the previous one where u culd scream out of sheer frustration but the lord of the rings was not going to b dethroned come wat may...maan wat a boooring oscars that was...
this one had its share of surprises for me atleast...i thot this time the voters will have pity on martin scorcese and hand him an oscar...but that was not to b...also i guess million dollar baby winning the best movie???...i thot i twas a great movie but the oscar for best film!!!??...i guess that was going too far...
anyways was happy kate blanchett and hillary swank one....hope kate winslet wins one soon too...the actress has been nominated time and again only to fall at the last hurdle...
another guy who deserves an oscar but hasnt been getting one is jude law...hes absolutely awesome at times...well i guess a lot of it is luck as well...
